Claudette Colvin played a big part in history concerning Civil Rights.

Claudette Colvin was 15 AND pregnant when she was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white man. She came before Rosa Parks but they thought a young pregnant girl wasn’t a good representative for the black people. So she is not as well known.

Claudette Colvin was born on September, 5, 1939. She was motivated by what she was taught in school, she learned that black people were once slaves and that made her angry. So she decided to not let anyone have her seat on the bus, to try to get things to change for the better for black people.

After all that trouble, Rosa Parks got most of the credit so that is why Claudette Colvin is an unsung hero. Now you know about Claudette Colvin

                                   Pros and Con of Owning a Cactus

I love cacti, they're my favorite plant.

First off these are the  pros of owning a cacti. Cacti are very easy to take care of as water is something they don’t need very much of.  Cacti will grow however big you'd like so they fit almost anywhere. They also are good to talk to.  In a scientific sense they breathe in carbon dioxide (what you breathe out) and produce fresh oxygen (what you breathe in)! 

According to the article “7 Health Benefits Of Having Cactus In Your House” written by the Cactus Way Team, “Having plants like cacti indoors can bring a feeling of calmness and increase your good mood.” And after all, who wants to be stuck inside without the beauty of nature?

So what are the cons of owning a cacti?  First off cacti have spikes. Technically it's a con to have a spiky plant.  Cats will sometimes nibble on cacti but the spines will poke them. So the cacti can be dangerous.

My Second Blog Post | Sesame street

 

                                                     Sesame Street

Sesame Street was created by the I.R.C: International Rescue Committee. The television show allowed children to have a better childhood education and adults were shown how to learn to interact with their children in a nice way. 

Kids who watch Sesame Street for 6 years of their life generally got good grades and had social skills due to the fact that Sesame Street has good details on those sorts of things!

The skills taught included Math, Social Skills, The Alphabet, Early Reading  and How to make a Friend.

Anabelle Timsit from her blog about Sesame Street said,  “It was designed to help preschool kids, especially children from low-income backgrounds, learn the skills they would need to keep up in school.”

Kids are still watching Sesame Street. Did you?

My First Blog Post

       LEGO

           Lego is one of the most popular toys in the world, just ask me. I have billions of random Lego scattered around my home. And at the time this is being written, January 10, 2021, I bought Lego Sesame Street!

First, Lego is one of the largest tire makers in the world. I bet that's gotta “tire” them out. I bet all the big budget tire businesses are feeling very envious right now. When I say tire, I mean small rubber pieces that go on the model cars not big rig trucks and cars, if you were confused...

Speaking of making stuff, Lego wasn't always a plastic interlockable toy. At first lego was made of wood, now a-days anyone would “bark” at that idea. Even when Lego switched to the toy we all know and love, the boxes were still hard wood. Then Lego was forced to use a more environmentally friendly box.

Lego isn't alone at the top spot for toys of that kind. A Chinese ripoff brand was sued by Lego for $650,000 in damages. Lepin, the Chinese ripoff brand is unreliable,  the pieces are often broken, low quality, don’t fit, fall apart and in my opinion, Lepin is SUPER low quality. Lepin is shameful. They stole Lego ideas.  The Lepin version of Star Wars is called Star Wners, another example is Lego City known as  LePin CiTieS, and The Lego Movie is called  tHe lePiN bRicKs.

A very popular TV show Sesame Street has its OWN Lego set.  It also received NEW molds and thanks to Lego Sesame Street we now have one stud moving legs! 

On an online platform Lego fans (13+) can make their own Lego sets with the support of 10,000 people! That is where Lego Sesame Street came from. And Lego F.R.I.E.N.D.S came from and the Lego pop up book AND THE LEGO SHIP IN A BOTTLE AAAAAAAAAND the list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and ON!!!! The well known game Minecraft received its own Lego franchise on June 6, 2012, not long after Minecraft  was released. There are still new Lego Minecraft sets being made. Heck as long as Lego is being bought and Minecraft is played NEW LEGO MINECRAFT IS COMING OUR WAY!

The lego figure never changed since 1978, that is very old.

Lego magnifying glass works. That should “enlarge” your opinion on lego.

The lego group founder Ole Kirk Christiansen lived from 1891-1958. I'm not good at math but that's a long life for the time period. He was also a carpenter.
